CARE November Training: Grief, Loss & Bereavement
CARE Counseling is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CARE maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
CARE CE trainings are also approved by the MN Board of Marriage & Family Therapy, including ethics and cultural CE hours required for licensure renewal.
About the Training: This live Zoom webinar is free of cost and limited to CARE Counseling team members. One (1) CE credit hour is available each week for clinicians that attend the full training hour. Level of programming is intermediate: assumes general familiarity with the topic.

- Define three+ types of grief and loss
- Acquire two+ new ways to conceptualize grief

- Second Week, 11/13: Biological, Psychological, Social, & Cultural factors

- Identify one+ biological and one+ psychological consideration for grief
- Identify one+ social, environmental and cultural consideration for grief
- Third Week, 11/20: Theoretical Approaches & Interventions

- Learning objectives:
- Describe two+ evidence-based approaches to working with grief and bereavement
- Apply two+ evidence-based interventions for grief-related concerns
- Fourth Week, 11/27: Self-as-Therapist, Treatment Planning, Ethics & Legal
- Speakers: Heidi Bausch-Ryan, PsyD, LP
- Learning objectives:
- Discuss one way “the self as therapist” influences work with grie
- Describe treatment planning approaches with grief
- Identify one+ ethical and legal consideration when working with grief related concerns
